Your Child’s First Dental Visit
Not sure when to bring your child in for his or her first checkup? Both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that children visit a dentist by their first birthday. We welcome kids of all ages, from infants and toddlers to young children, tweens, and teens.
As a parent, you play a critical role in ensuring your child’s first dental visit is memorable for all the right reasons. Please talk positively about the visit in the days leading up to the appointment. Once you arrive with your child, let us do the talking if you’re unsure of what to say. Our entire staff is great with kids! We use kid-friendly words to help them understand what we’re doing, and we keep the atmosphere light and fun. We even let kids touch many of the instruments we’ll be using so that they feel involved in what’s happening.
